Compliance & trust
Data handling is the product.
You’re not just buying audiences — you’re trusting where they came from. This page answers the questions your legal and procurement teams will ask, before they ask them.
Due diligence
The questions legal asks, answered up front.
Where does the data come from?
From sources we compile and verify ourselves: public records (tax, deed, court filings), real estate listings, change-of-address submissions, and proprietary partnerships — built into one connected set of consumer, property, mortgage, auto, business, and contact files over 18 years. We know where every file comes from, which means we can answer for it.
What laws govern its use?
Use of our products must comply with all applicable law, including the CCPA, TCPA, CAN-SPAM Act, Canadian Anti-Spam Law (CASL), COPPA, state registry laws, and Do-Not-Call lists. Phone data is DNC-scrubbed; consumer opt-outs are honored and suppressed across every database.
What can’t the data be used for?
This is marketing data, not consumer-report data. It may not be used for credit decisions, insurance underwriting, employment screening, tenant screening, or any purpose covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) — and our terms prohibit those uses explicitly, along with any use that violates a person’s privacy or data-protection rights. We reserve the right to review usage for compliance.
How do consumers opt out?
Anyone can request removal by calling (801) 901-8870 or emailing support@datalaboratory.com. Records are located and suppressed across our databases. The formal notice lives in our privacy policy, including “Do Not Sell My Personal Information” requests.
How is the environment secured?
Our data environment runs on Microsoft Azure. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. All access follows zero-trust principles with strong multi-factor authentication. Licensed data is delivered through a secure portal, SFTP, scoped API access, or direct-to-cloud transfer.
Why does this matter to your marketing results?
Compliance isn’t just risk management — it’s deliverability and reach. DNC-scrubbed phones connect. Opt-out-honored files don’t generate complaints. Verified emails land. Clean data is the difference between a campaign that runs and one that gets your domain blocked.
